When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with my papa's slides. His job took him all over the world, traveling to almost every continent on the planet (he took himself to Antarctica once he retired), and his favorite thing to do was to capture the landscape of where he was to bring a bit of it home to his family. When he realized how interested I was in photography he introduced me to his Pentax Honeywell, and it was a friendship that has endured decades. From the moment a camera landed in my hands, I made it my job to capture and document every moment of my family's life, especially when they really didn't want me to.
There was no technique or "art" to it, I was just simply immortalizing important moments, or not so important moments, from my life that I knew I'd want to keep forever. Eventually, I started utilizing my camera for more artistic endeavors, and realized how gratifying it was to use something that I had loved my whole life as a creative outlet. When I moved up to Washington from California, I figured I could try to use my experiences to help other people capture and document all the moments of their lives they deemed important (or not so important). Eight years and a ton of learning and growing later, and here we are!
